5 Reasons to Include A Wedding Website Into Your Wedding Plans

By Hillary Mullen – July 5, 2012

Wedding Websites are becoming trendy and popular amongst today’s wedding couples. The major motive behind creating a wedding website is to keep your memories alive. Here are some other reasons to create a wedding website:

1. Creating comfortable settings for all family members and guests.

A wedding website allows the couple’s family and friends the opportunity to get to know the couple and their families before the wedding. This is a particularly great idea for distant relatives and guests who are coming from out of town. This can create a comfortable setting for guests prior to the wedding day.

2. Publishing extra wedding details.

You can and should include details about the wedding. Following this helps everyone. Of course everyone will have the date, time, place, etc. But on your wedding website, you have the ability to let guests know so much more. For example, you could post who’s in the wedding party, how formal or informal your wedding will be, and what type of music to expect.

3. Collecting the wedding’ gifts list.

Most couples will create a wedding registry. Your wedding website can collect the list of the gifts that the couple has registered for so that guests are able to purchase gifts that the couple actually want. In today’s shopping world, all of this can be completed without leaving home. And guests appreciate knowing that you will want the gift they buy, so make sure you include a gift registry on your site.

4. Informing out of town guests about hotel.

Often people who are coming from out of town or out of state will be staying around for a few days after the wedding. It would be very helpful to have any hotel information on your wedding website. Make sure that if you have reserved a block of rooms at a hotel at a reduced rate, and that you make this fact known on your site.

5. Letting your guests RSVP online!

Lastly, a RSVP link allows guest to quickly let you know if they will be attending, and how many will attend. This is a vast time and money saver for you and your guests. You should include an address to your website in the paper wedding invitation (you should NOT do your invitations electronically). This allows the exclusion of stamped RSVP envelopes for you, and allows guests the ability to quickly and effortlessly respond.

Information sharing is indeed the number one reason for the internet. When you plan a wedding, it is also one of the main goals to get information to the people that will be at the wedding. When you create a wedding website, you create a common place for this information to be viewed by all.
