This weekend, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony hosted a dualhousewarming/anniversary party at their San Fernando Valley home, and capped off the night by renewing their vows.

“They’re excited about their new life together as a family in California and wanted to kick it off with a great party,” an insider told People Magazine. “Jen is very excited about sharing her special night with her family and friends. The party will be spectacular. Guests will enjoy dancing until the morning hours.”

According to the news source, the party theme will be “art deco,” apparent from the couple’s gold and silver invitations. A-list guests included Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, and Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.

Couples who want to throw an in-home party of their own may consider a special party theme for the night, but should keep the fete elegant by incorporating the theme into the decor and not much else – after all, a theme party and costume party are two very separate things.

“I’m big on color,” a party planning expert told Oprah.com. “Sometimes the theme is a color palette, and I create the setting around it.”
