Couple hosts African-themed dinner party

To raise money for Reach for a Dream, an organization that grantswishes for terminally ill children between the ages of three to 18, Paul and Christine Stiffler of Beacon Bay, South Africa, held a dinner party that boasted an Out of Africa theme, the Daily Dispatch Online reports.

Guests donned African-print and safari-inspired outfits, and the dinner party menu included crocodile fritters, buffalo steak and a traditional milk tart. Cocktails were served before the meal as well.

“I think everyone should have a dream fulfilled. We have been blessed and would like to share our blessings with someone else,” partygoer Carol-Ann Connellan told the news source.

Those interested in throwing a themed dinner party should remember that an elaborate event often requires a great deal of careful planning, so early preparation is key.

Work closely with a catering company to create the dinner party menu, as themed meals often need many specialty food items. You may also want to research your theme online to figure out the perfect decorations.

A live band is a great addition to any soiree. The musicians can provide soft background music while guests are dining, and then kick it up a notch after the meal so that partygoers can dance the night away.
