Is the stage large enough to accommodate your performance? Is the lighting adequate? Do they have the equipment you will need for your performance? Do they have a sound system that will fit your needs? Do they have on sight technicians that will be able to run all of the lighting, sound and other equipment you will be using during the performance? Do they have on sight staff that can help you set up for the performance? If not what options are available?
Catering & Drinks
It will also be important to check to make sure that there are adequate rest rooms and a coat check facilities. If you will be serving any food or beverages what are your options? Do they offer on site catering or will you have to choose and outside vendor? Where will they set up and serve food and beverages?
It is also a good idea to go over costs for all of your event needs. You will certainly want to make sure that there are no hidden fees. Determine venue rental costs along with equipment rental, food and beverage cost, etc. Make sure you also find out when you have to have a deposit in by to secure your date and what the venue’s cancelation policy is.
